Psychomotor: The student will be able to research and collect information by using a computer. Affective: The students will be able to demonstrate self direction skills and teamwork while researching a country. Materials: Computer lab, computers, pencil/pens, and paper. Procedure is a follows: Role: (2 mins.) Students must be in lines and on their role call numbers by the time I walk into the gym to avoid being marked late and/or tardy. Being late and/or tardy results in lost of points for the class period. Walk to computer lab:(2 mins.) As a class we will then walk quietly and quickly to the computer lab and find a computer to work at. All students must bring their back packs with appropriate materials. Instruction: (2 mins.) I will then explain the assignment for the day. I will explain that they are to work independently and collect information for their research papers. Their research papers will be a minimum of 2 pages on the country that they are representing. They must use a minimum of three sources (2 must be off internet). They will bring this information home and begin to write their paper. Assignment (45 mins) Students will work independently to research information about the country that they choose to represent. Students will find information on the countries history, economics, traditions, rituals, entertainment, and anything else that they find interesting. Students will also research that countries soccer team and their history and current news. As students are working I will go around making sure that they are staying on task. Closing Announcements (4 mins.) I will remind students about their papers and encourage them to start on them tonight. I will remind them that they have to be two pages.
